This three day, studio-focused institute is inspired by the special exhibition, America’s Impressionism: Echoes of a Revolution. Participants will explore advances in visual perception, plein air, and other painting techniques used by Impressionist artists, and compare and contrast the built environment with the natural environment. Spend the first day in the exhibition at the museum and work en plein air on the museum grounds, then attend virtual workshops where you will complete art projects using your SAMA art kit remotely on days 2 and 3. Time for self-care, sharing with colleagues, and integrating the lesson plans into your curriculum is included.
