Virtual Evening for Educators: Culturally Responsive Teaching through Art

Thursday September 30, 2021 - 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. | Free

This event has been moved to a virtual format!

Culturally responsive teaching is a student-centered approach that encourages the development of the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—with an understanding that no matter the subject matter, your students bring their life experiences into learning. Explore why culturally responsive teaching practices matter and what they look like. Attendees will participate in a discussion about language as it is used in responding to artwork, and art-looking activities that encourage thinking through art, then utilize their art kit for remote art making that focus on bringing understanding of our cultures and others. .
